By means of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction to the District Magistrate, Mainpuri to decide the Application No.503/ALC dated 04.12.2017 for grant of firearms licence in favour of the petitioner within a stipulated period.

To this prayer, learned Standing Counsel raises no objection.

Be that as it may, without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the present petition is being disposed of with the direction to the District Magistrate, Mainpuri to decide the Application No.503/ALC dated 04.12.2017 filed by the petitioner, expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of submission of certified copy of this order after after due verification in accordance with law.

It goes without saying that this Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. The competent authority shall apply his own mind with the application independently and take a decision on merits.
