UPON hearing the counsel, the Court made the following O R D E R
The States of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh will file their counter affidavits within a period of six weeks from today, replying to the assertions made in the writ petition. If counter affidavits are not filed within the said time, they shall pay a cost of 20,000/-(Rupees twenty thousand only) each in favour ₹ of the State Legal Services Authority of the respective State.
The affidavit to be filed by the State of Tamil Nadu will also advert to the allegations made in the Short Note(s) filed on behalf of the petitioner.
Rejoinder affidavit, if any, will be filed within four weeks after service of the counter-affidavits.
Re-list in the week commencing 25.11.2024.
