UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
1 Mr Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General of India states that in pursuance of the notice to show cause dated 23 September 2020, a reply was submitted by Sudarshan TV on 28 September 2020. On 1 October 2020, the Inter - Ministerial Committee is stated to have viewed the episodes in question and after hearing the representative of Sudarshan TV, submitted its recommendations to the Central Government. On receipt of the recommendations, the Central Government is stated to have issued a show cause notice to Sudarshan TV today (5.10.2020) and the hearing is scheduled to take place tomorrow (6.10.2020).
- 2 Since the process in pursuance of the show cause notice is still to be concluded, the Solicitor General requested the Court for time to complete it. We accordingly stand over the hearing of these proceedings to 26 October 2020.
- 3 List the Petition on 26 October 2020.
