UPON hearing the counsel the court made the following O R D E R
Aggrieved by the Order dated 14.12.2022 passed by the High Court, which is interim in nature, the petitioners have approached this Court. The dispute is with respect to the realisation of Annual Recurring license Fees (ARF) on the casinos during the period they were closed down on account of corona 'Pandemic'. The High Court vide impugned order refused to grant any interim order on the payment of the aforesaid fees during the closure period, but only stayed 12% penal interest which was levied.
Learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners at the outset made a statement before us

that they are ready to deposit 50% of the ARF demanded for the disputed period, within a period of six weeks from today and the High Court may be required to dispose of the writ petition(s) itself on merits.
Considering the statement made by learned senior counsel appearing the petitioners. We dispose of these special leave petitions by providing that in case the petitioners' deposit 50% of the demanded ARF due for the disputed period within a period of six weeks from today, the realisation of the balance amount shall remain stayed.
The High Court is requested to dispose of the writ petition(s) on merits without being influenced by any of the observations made herein within a period of three months from todays.
The special leave petitions stand disposed of accordingly. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
