UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following O R D E R Sh. Kapil Sibal, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner ⬠Authority, has submitted that so far, compensation of Rs. 55 Crores has been paid to the land owners as per the order passed by the Reference Court. It is submitted that in view of the enhancement by the High Court, there is a huge escalation resulting in the liability of the petitioner-authority to around Rs. 900 crores. Issue notice in the applications. Mr. Subhashish Bhowmick, learned counsel and Mr. Ajit Sharma, learned counsel, accept notice on behalf of respective respondents. There shall be an interim stay of the impugned Judgment on condition that the petitioner-authority shall deposit an amount of Rs. 55 crores to the credit of the Reference Court, which shall be in addition to the compensation already paid or payable to the respective land owners, within a period of three months from today. The Reference Court is directed to invest the said amount in a nationalised bank in an interest bearing Fixed Deposit, initially for a period of three months, which shall be renewed for the same period from time to time. The bailable warrants issued against the respondents by the Executing Court shall remain stayed until further orders. Post after three months.
