UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
We have heard learned counsel for the parties including the learned Additional Advocate General for the State of U.P.
An interim status report dated 16th April, 2015 prepared by Ms. Renuka Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh has been handed over in Court. The same is taken on record.
We have been shown some of the recommendations that have been made and extent of work that has been carried out.
3
Learned Additional Advocate General says that some further time is required to finalize the report and to make final recommendations. He says that the needful will be done within six weeks. Accordingly, we adjourn the matter to 10th July, 2015 and we expect the final report and the final recommendations to be completed before that date and a copy thereof handed over to learned counsel for the parties.
We have also been informed that the State of Uttar Pradesh has released some amounts for the benefit of the widows in Vrindavan. We can only request the State of Uttar Pradesh to be little more liberal in making financial arrangements so that improvement in the condition of the widows of Vrindavan is not delayed.
We also make it clear that while considering the entire issue, the Principal Secretary will take into consideration the reports that have already been mentioned in our order of 20th February, 2015 as also our earlier order dated 3rd August, 2012 while making a final report.
Since this matter primarily pertains to the State of Uttar Pradesh, there is no requirement for learned counsel for the other States/Union Territories to remain present in Court and their presence is accordingly dispensed with.
4
List the matter on 10th July, 2015.
