UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

It has been pointed out that an appeal before this Court is pending challenging the validity and vires of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Haryana Amendment Act, 1996 and the question involved herein also is whether the Shamlat Deh land can be allowed to be allotted by the State in favour of the displaced persons/ allottee.

Insofar as the validity of The Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Haryana Amendment Act, 1996 is concerned, the High Court has already upheld the validity as a consequence of which, Shamlat Deh land is permissible to be allotted to the displaced persons.

However, it is informed that an appeal against the said judgment and order of the High Court, upholding the amendment, is pending in this Court bearing Special Leave Petition (C) No.24224 of 2010 i.e. Gram Panchayat of Village Kum-Kalan vs. State of Punjab & Ors., which is pending disposal.

Since the implication of the same is that it will govern the controversy in this case also, we deem it appropriate that this special leave petition be tagged to be heard along with SLP(C) No.24224 of 2010.
