UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
The Court is convened through Video Conferencing.
Heard learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, carefully perused the record and perused the Office Report.
Exemptions are allowed.
Issue notice to learned Advocate General for the State of Maharashtra, returnable after four weeks.
The Registry is directed to post these matters along with Special Leave Petition (Crl.) (Diary) No.8224 of 2020 (The State of Maharashtra and Ors Vs. Anand Ramdhani Chaurasia & Anr.) and other connected matters filed by the State of Maharashtra against quashing of First Information Reports with application of Section 328 of the Indian Penal Code.
In view of the fact that three different Benches of this Court have granted interim protection to the similarly placed persons, we also direct that no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioners for a period of four weeks from today.
The petitioners are directed to cooperate in the investigation at all stages. Additionally, the interim protection is also subject to the compliance of other conditions, as enumerated in Section 438 (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
