UPON hearing the counsel, the Court made the following O R D E R
Re-list along with other connected matters for final hearing/ disposal on a non-miscellaneous day in the week commencing 20.01.2025. The matter will be listed at 2.00 p.m. on the next date of hearing.
In the meanwhile, report(s) of the Committee headed by Ms. Justice Gita Mittal along with important points will be furnished to the office of the learned Solicitor General of India, to enable the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the State Government to interact and take remedial steps and actions.
We also direct the State Government to file a status report containing the following details: -

- Details of the buildings/properties which have been burnt or partially burnt.

- Details of the buildings/properties which have been
looted/burgled.
- Details of the buildings/properties which were trespassed and encroached upon.
The details will also include the names and addresses of the owner(s) as well as the persons, if any, in illegal occupation of the buildings/property.
The status report shall indicate the steps taken by the State Government to ensure that the persons, who have trespassed into the buildings/properties, are proceeded against in accordance with law, including recovery of the unauthorized use and occupation charges.
The status report may include other relevant details.
The status report will be filed in a sealed cover before this Court.
We permit the Committee, headed by Ms. Justice Gita Mittal, to furnish a copy of the report(s) to the learned counsel for the parties, if required, after appropriate/required redaction.
The State Government will respond to the question(s) relating to the release of funds mentioned in the points raised by the Committee headed by Ms. Justice Gita Mittal.
Report Nos. 28, 33 and 34 of the Committee headed by Ms. Justice Gita Mittal, will be taken up for consideration on the next date of hearing.
