UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
An affidavit has been filed by the Joint Director (Wildlife), Ministry of Environment & Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. Paragraph 6 of the said affidavit reads as follows:
"6. It is submitted that the Standing Committee of the Wildlife Board is meeting on 25th January 2018 and all the five suggestions of the Petitioner can be placed before the Standing Committee. This Hon'ble Court may suggest that on 25th January 2018, the Standing Committee of Wildlife may consider all these five aspects and, if practical, may take a decision on the same so that follow-up action could be taken by all the State Governments. It is submitted that such follow-up action, considering the magnitude of the entire exercise, would take at least four months after which a report could be placed before this Hon'ble Court setting out the action taken in regard to each one of the decisions which the Standing Committee of the Wildlife Board would take at its meeting on 25th January 2018 or on any subsequent date."
In view of the aforesaid, let the matter be listed in the first week of April, 2018.
