UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
Mr. Vikramjit Banerjee, learned Additional Solicitor General, submits that by the assistance of the Officers, he has received some documents wherein the procedure for sanction of Freedom Fighters' pension has been prescribed. After going through those documents, it is contended that he shall file an additional affidavit indicating the adjudicatory mechanism required for sanction the Freedom Fighters' pension.
Let an affidavit be filed explaining the abovesaid details. It be also apprised on the next date that what mechanism is being observed by the State concerned to recommend the grant of Freedom Fighters sanction.
We expect that in the affidavit filed by the Officer, the details of the individual claimants be explained to narrow down the controversy involved.
As the matter relates to the issue of Freedom Fighters' pension, therefore, we hope and trust that the Central Government shall do the needful at the earliest.
As requested, we grant four weeks' time. Let an affidavit be filed mentioning all the aforesaid details supplying a copy to the other side. Two weeks' further time is granted to the other side to file counter of that affidavit.
Relist the matters on 14th February, 2024.
