UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
Learned counsel appearing for the respondent(s) points out that some of the legal representatives of the deceased respondent(s) have not been brought on record. He may furnish the details of such persons to the learned advocate-onrecord for the petitioner(s), who in turn may take necessary steps to bring the said parties on record.
Ms. Madhavi Divan, learned Additional Solicitor General, on instructions, submits that enquiry has been more or less completed after inspection of record which had become available to the Committee. They have scanned almost 20,000 files and have found that around 2229 certificates were issued by one individual, which is the issue for consideration in these proceedings.
As we are required to defer the hearing of these matters to enable the petitioner(s) to bring on record the remaining heirs and legal representatives of the deceased respondent(s), we
make it clear that pendency of these matters will not come in the way of the authorities to proceed in the concerned matter in accordance with law if the fact situation so warrants including to cancel the certificate(s) after following due process; and taking appropriate action against the erring officials/persons involved in issuance of such fraudulent certificates.
List these matters on 12.07.2022.
