UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

Arguments have been advanced on behalf of the petitioners as regards jurisdiction of the National Green Tribunal to take up matters suo motu. The impugned order of the High Court is also questioned on merit. In its order passed on 21.12.2020, the High Court had set aside certain respective orders of the Tribunal pertaining to stone quarrying but in substance, the matter was remanded to it. The Tribunal was directed to dispose of the representation of respondent Nos.3 to 115 (in the writ petition)

On behalf of both the petitioners prayer has been made for staying the proceedings before the National Green Tribunal at this stage.

Let these matters be listed for hearing on 29-06-2021.

Any step taken in the meantime by the National Green Tribunal in relation to the dispute involved shall be subject to any further order which may be passed in this matter on the next date of hearing or thereafter.

Counter affidavits, if any, and rejoinder, thereto, by the respondents and petitioners, respectively, may be exchanged in the interim period.

Prayer of impleadment, if any, shall be considered on the next date of hearing.
