We are informed by Mr.Parag P.Tripathi, learned senior counsel that the term of Mr. V.K.Jain, Member (Judicial), National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is coming to an end on 29.08.2020. Though, selections have been completed by the Committee, the appointment of new Member has not been finalised by the Government.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, we are of the opinion that the term of Mr.V.K.Jain, Member (Judicial), National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission be extended by a further period of three

months or till the appointments are made whichever is earlier.

Applications stand disposed of accordingly.

By an order dated 04.08.2020, we extended the term of Mr. O.P.Gupta, Member (Judicial) State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Delhi for a further period of six months.

This contempt petition has been filed on the complaint that the order dated 04.08.2020 has not been complied with.

Mr.Zoheb Hossain, learned counsel appearing for the Union of India submits that a decision has been taken to permit Mr.O.P.Gupta, Member to recommence his working from 27.08.2020.

In view of the above statement made by Mr. Zoheb Hossain, the contempt petition does not survive and it is closed.
