O R D E R

The parties have arrived at a settlement and the memo of settlement has been filed incorporati ng the terms of settlement, according to which an amount of Rs.1,70,000/- has to be paid to th e complainant-respondent by way of cheque in full settlement of all the disputes between the p arties. It is further stated that on receipt of the said sum the respondents will not press for continuance of the criminal proceedings. A cheque for Rs.1,70,000/- has been handed over to the respondents' counsel today in the Court. As the complainant-respondent is not willing to pursue the criminal proceedings any further, there is no point in proceeding with the tria l of the criminal cases mentioned at paragraph 9.2 of the Memo of settlement. In the circumst ances, we take note of the settlement arrived at between the parties and direct -2-

that the accused including the appellant shall stand discharged from all these criminal cases and the said cases shall be treated to have been closed by the concerned Magistrates. Accordi ngly the appeal is disposed of.
