Fee) Ordinance, 2007, which has been struck down by the Orissa High Court.
We are informed that similar statutes have been enacted by the States of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.
We are of the view that the said States should also be heard in the matter as any decision in these cases may affect the validity of the similar enactments made by those States. Therefore, we direct that notice of these cases may also be given to the aforesaid States. We direct the appellant to serve notice on the standing counsel of these States so that they can get instructions and make their submissions in the matter.
Ms. Indira Jaising, learned ASG seeks time to secure instructions from the Government of India about its stand on the issue involved in this case.
It is stated that appeals/SLPs relating to the challenges made to similar State enactments are pending before this Court. Learned counsel for the Union of India to give a list of those cases so that they can all be tagged together and heard.
