On 3.1.2007, we requested the various State Government regarding the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Court (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Act, 2006) We requested the State to constitute the

Juvenile Justice Board and also to constitute the child Welfare Committee. Most of the states have taken steps in this regard and have done the needful but the State of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan Government of NCT, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland, Lakshdweep, Dadra & Nagar, Chattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh have not complied with these directions.

We request the Chief Secretaries of these states to personally see that the Juvenile Justice Board be constituted in each districts and the child Welfare Committee also be constituted in each district so that the welfare measures could be streamlined by the

administrators.
