Shri Shishodia, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that as far as the principal amount towards external development charges is concerned, petitioner accepts that it has to pay and, in fact, it has paid rupees fifteen crores twenty three lacs. He further submits that dispute is about the interest amount payable which comes to around rupees twenty crores and this is on the background that according to the petitioner hardly any external development has taken place.

In view of the above, issue notice to the respondents, returnable in four weeks. Dasti, in addition, is permitted.

In the meanwhile, the parties shall maintain the status quo on the disputed land, as it is obtaining today.
