UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
- 1 Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has annexed a translated transcript of an interview dated 19 September 2022 of Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay on a news media channel, ABP Ananda. A copy of the transcript is attached at Annexure P-7 to the Special Leave Petition.
- 2 The Registrar General of the High Court of Calcutta is directed to personally verify from Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay as to whether he had been interviewed by Mr Suman De of ABP Ananda as noted above. The Registrar General shall file an affidavit before this Court on or before 27 April 2023.
- 3 List the Special Leave Petition on 28 April 2023. SLP (C) Diary No 17025 of 2023 [State of West Bengal vs Soumen Nandy and Others] be also listed with the present Special Leave Petition.
4 The interim order passed by this Court on 17 April 2023, shall continue until the next date of listing.
