The application for substitution is allowed in terms of the prayer made. The amended cause title be filed within two weeks. The parties may file additional documents which were part of the record of the trial Court and the High Court. During the pendency of the appeals, the parties shall maintain the status quo regarding the suit property as it is obtaining today. This would necessarily mean that neither party shall change the character of the property or alienate the same to any other person in any manner whatsoever. It will be open to the respondent to file an application for directing the petitioners to pay damages in terms of the judgment of this Court in State of Maharashtra and another vs. Super Max International Private Limited and others (2009) 9 SCC 772.
