Alongwith the affidavit of Professor Sanjay Shrivastava, Assistant Director (M.E.), Directorat e General of Health Services, Government of India filed in court today, statement (Annexure 'D ') has been filed. The said statement shows total number of seats available in participating m edical colleges and number of seats vacant in 15% All India Medical Quota on 21st August, 2004 , as per the information received from participating medical colleges updated as on 30th Augus t, 2004 i.e. yesterday at 11.00 A.M. According to the affidavit of Professor Shrivastava, 93 m edical colleges participate and contribute to 15% All India Medical Quota Kitty. The informati on received has, however, been only from 78 colleges. The remaining 15 colleges have not suppl ied the information. Likewise 25 Dental Colleges contributing 15% of Medical All India Seats q uota but the information has been received from only 20 colleges. Remaining 5 colleges have n ot supplied the requisite information. The names of the medical and dental colleges were -4-
supplied and who have not supplied the information are given in the statement marked as Annexu re 'D'. The colleges were required to inform Directorate General of Health Services in terms o f order already passed. No further delay can be brooked. We direct the State of Bihar, Gujarat , Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal to supply the requisite information to D.G.H.S. by 9.00 P.M. today. Likewise the States of Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nad u and West Bengal would supply the requisite information in respect of Dental Colleges. The in formation is required in respect of the following medical colleges and dental colleges :- Medical Colleges :- 1.JLNMC, Bhagalpur 2.Patna MC, Patna 3.G.Medical College,Bhawnagar 4.Grant.M.C. Mumbai 5.Miraj.Medical College, Miraj 6.SVRNMC, Yavatmal 7.SBH GMC, Dhule 8.RGMC & Chap.SM., Thane 9.Gandhi.M.C. Bhopal 10.CMC, Chengalpattu 11.Stanley M.C., Chennai 12.T.Medical College Thanjavur 13.Govt.MKMMMC, Selam 14.Med.College, Kolkata 15.NRSMC, Kolkata -5- Dental Colleges 1.Govt.DC, Ahmedabad 2.DC, Calicut 3.Govt.DC, Mumbai
4.Madras DC, Chennai
5.NBDC, Darjeeling
The Chief Secretaries of the aforesaid States shall be personally responsible for supply of t he information, as above. On receipt of the information, the Directorate General of Health Ser vices would complete the statements/charts which may be helpful in considering further directi ons which may have to be issued.
A copy of the order shall be given to the Standing Counsel of the States immediately. It shall also be faxed immediately to the Chief Secretaries of the concerned States.
