UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
We have heard learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Additional Solicitor General appearing for the respondents at length.
Applications for intervention are allowed.
During the course of hearing, we have been informed by the learned counsel for the parties that the matters have been fixed for final hearing before the Madras High Court on 12.06.2017.
We do not intend to pass any order on these Special Leave Petitions except requesting the High Court to hear out the matters in question on day-to-day basis and to conclude the same and deliver the judgment, if possible, within a period of one month.
Status quo order already passed by the High Court on 23.12.2016 shall continue to operate till the matter is finally disposed of.
The Special Leave Petitions are disposed of in the above terms.
