UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
Permission to file the special leave petition is granted.
We have heard Shri Mukul Rohatgi, learned senior counsel for the petitioners and Shri K.K. Venugopal, learned Attorney General for the State of Tamil Nadu.
The limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioners is that the Writ Petition No.1592 of 2015, in which the present impugned order has been passed, be heard with the connected matters i.e. Writ Appeal Nos.1168, 1169, 1220 and 1221 of 2015 and the cases be disposed of at the earliest, preferably within a time frame of four weeks.
Shri Rohatgi, learned senior counsel has further submitted that an interim prayer for transportation of the legally mined minerals prior to 2013 may be permitted to be urged before the High Court. Shri Venugopal, learned Attorney General has no objection to the same.
In view of the aforesaid, we request the High Court to dispose of the writ petition along with the connected matters, as mentioned above, as expeditiously as its business would permit and in the event it becomes so necessary, the petitioners should also be permitted to urge the interim relief, terms of which have been noted above. The contentions that may be open in law to the State of Tamil Nadu may be urged before the High Court.
We further request the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court to make the designated Bench available for hearing of the matter.
2
With the aforesaid, the special leave petitions are disposed of.
Pending application(s), if any, stand disposed of.
