Mr Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General appearing on behalf of the appellant, submits that the appellant would be in a position to comply with the time line of December 2020, which has been set by the order of the

Pond – IIA. However, it has been submitted that in respect of Pond – I and Pond – III an extension of time would be required and the direction of the NGT would result in shutting down of the thermal power station.
The Court has been apprised of the fact that several steps have been taken by the appellant to ensure the safe disposal of fly ash.
Issue notice, returnable in three weeks.
Dasti, in addition, is permitted.
