UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

We have heard Shri K.K. Venugopal, learned Attorney General for India, Shri Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General, Ms. Indira Jaisingh, learned senior counsel, Shri C.U. Singh, learned senior counsel and other counsel appearing for different parties.
Although, notices were issued in these matters but no counter affidavit has yet been filed on behalf of the Union of India.
Learned Solicitor General prays for and is granted a week's time to file counter affidavit to the writ petition(s) to enable the Court to know the stand of Union of India on different issues raised in the writ petition(s).
Let counter affidavit be filed within a week. List after a week.
We make it clear that the interim order, wherever it is granted, shall continue.
