UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
1. Ms. Aishwarya Bhati, learned Additional Solicitor General appearing for the Union of India states that in pursuance of the orders dated 13.04.2023 and 04.07.2023 passed by this Court, the Union of India had appointed a Committee under the Chairmanship of the Director General of Health Services to consider the perspectives of various stakeholders.
2. Learned Additional Solicitor General submits that the Committee has submitted its report. However, she submitted that since the concern of the various stakeholders including the State Government/Union Territories, the National Medical Council and the National Board of Examination is involved, it will be appropriate that the Union of India to convene a meeting with all the stakeholders and comes with a proposal before this Court.
3. We, therefore, direct the Union of India to hold a meeting with all the stakeholders, including representatives from all the States/UTs and the private medical colleges to consider the report of the Expert Committee.
4. We would appreciate the Union of India to take a decision on the issue within a period of three months to ensure there are no complications in the admission process for the next academic session.
