UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R The operative part of the Order dated 2 nd December, 2016 passed in the present matters is corrected to read as follows: In view of the amendment in Karnataka Education Act, 1983 by way of Karnataka Education (Amendment) Act, 2014 with retrospective effect i.e. 1 st June, 1995, Contempt petitions against the petitioners before the High Court of Karnataka are dismissed. Page No. 1 of 2 The Special Leave Petitions are disposed of in the above terms. However, the respondent(s) ⬠contempt petitioner(s) are at liberty to move the High Court and challenge the Karnataka Education (Amendment) Act, 2014, which came into force with effect from 1 st June, 1995, if so advised.
