CORAM :

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANIRUDDHA BOSE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIKRAM NATH

For Petitioner(s) Mr. Colin Gonsalves, Sr. Adv. Ms. Olivia Bang, Adv. Mr. Satya Mitra, AOR

For Respondent(s)

UPON hearing the counsel, the Court made the following O R D E R

Heard Mr. Colin Gonsalves, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner.

He has brought to our notice the order of the High Court passed on 19.03.2021 by which the Division Bench of the High Court had directed release of 9 (nine) writ petitions, which were remaining heard in part before that Division Bench. Digitally signed by SWETA BALODI Date: 2022.10.20 17:47:32 IST Reason: Signature Not Verified

The Special Leave Petition (Crl.) No. 1744 of 2020 and the Writ Petition (Crl.) No. 97 of 2020 broadly are on the same question, which are involved in the 9(nine) writ petitions pending before the Delhi High Court. Grievance of Mr. Colin Gonsalves is that his clients pleas for registering a First Information Report remain unaddressed to the incidents having taken place in the month of December, 2019. In the said writ petitions, substance of the prayers is registering of the First Information Report as also for independent investigation. We request the High Court to hear out the matter early having regard to the fact that these matters are pending before the High Court for some time now.

So far as, the special leave petition and writ petitions are concerned, as they are on overlapping points, we do not find any reason to keep them pending. The special leave petition as well as writ petition shall stand disposed of in view of this order.

Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
