  • 1 Permission to file the Special Leave Petition granted.
  • <span id="page-0-0"></span>2 Mr Salman Khurshid, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, submits that during the course of the nine years' service which was rendered by the petitioners as contractual employees, only one Teachers' Eligibility Test1 was held by the State of Meghalaya in January 2019. In these circumstances, it has been submitted that the State of Meghalaya ought to have given another chance to candidates such as the petitioners to appear in the TET Digitally signed by Sanjay Kumar Date: 2021.07.09 16:59:08 IST Reason: Signature Not Verified

in order to allow them to seek the benefit of regular appointment in terms of the policy of the State Government. Learned Senior Counsel states that in the absence of such an opportunity, the petitioners would become age barred.

  • 3 Issue notice, confined to the issue as to whether an opportunity can be given to the petitioners to appear in the TET, returnable in six weeks.
  • 4 Liberty to serve the Standing Counsel for the State of Meghalaya.
