UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following

O R D E R

Permission to file Special Leave Petition is

granted.

Exemption from filing certified copy of the impugned

judgment is granted.

In the facts of the case we do not consider it necessary to formally issue notice in this Special Leave Petition. By the impugned order, which is an interim order, the High Court has directed the State Election Commission to complete the entire election process to all the Local Bodies in the State latest by 14th May, 2017. At the same time, the High Court had directed that the appeal shall be heard on continuous basis in the afternoon sessions commencing from 6th March, 2017 onwards. We are told that the hearing of the appeal is now fixed on 3rd April, 2017.

In the aforesaid facts of the case, we request the High Court to hear and decide the appeal as expeditiously as possible and in the event any further order with regard to the date of completion of election process fixed on 14th May, 2017 is required the High Court may be approached for modification/extension of the said date.

With the aforesaid observations, the Special Leave Petition is disposed of.
