UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

1 The petitioner has set up a limited challenge to the judgment of the High Court inasmuch as though the High Court has agreed with the contention of the petitioner that the incumbent Vice-Chancellor was appointed contrary to the Digitally signed by NEETA SAPRA Date: 2024.01.27 11:24:40 IST Signature Not Verified

University Grants Commission Regulations, yet the very same person has been allowed to continue until 30 June 2024 or until a fresh appointment is made, whichever is earlier.

• 2 In that context, reliance has been placed on sub-sections (19) and (20) of Section 14 of the Puducherry Technological University Act 2019 which make a provision for such an eventuality.
• 3 Issue notice returnable on 12 February 2024.
• 4 Dasti service limited to serve the Standing Counsel for the Union Territory of Puducherry, in addition.
• 5 List the Special Leave Petition on 12 February 2024.
