Upon hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
1. It is submitted that Ms. Aishwarya Bhati, learned Additional Solicitor General, who has been engaged by the State to argue the matter, is held up in another Court, and as such, an adjournment is prayed for.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, as per the information received under the Right to Information Act, 2005, at least 56 posts of Panchayat Executive Officer, redesignated from the post of Panchayat Secretary/Rural Programme Manager (RPM), are still lying vacant.
3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Additional Solicitor General seeks time to obtain instructions as to whether the present petitioners, who are not more than four (4) in number, can be accommodated and, if so, on what terms.

4. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioners would not claim seniority or back wages, should the State favourably consider their appointment.
