UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
We have heard Mr. Mohan Parasaran learned Solicitor General, Mr. Sidharth Luthra, learned Additional Solicitor General and Mr. Gaurav Bhatia, learned Additional Advocate General, U.P. on the issues of use and unauthorised use of Beckons on motor vehicles and multi-toned horns, which is prohibited by Rule 119(2) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
They all agreed that the unauthorised use of Beckons on motor vehicles and multi-toned horns deserves to be dealt with sternly and exemplary fine should be imposed on the violators.
We would have passed appropriate order in the matter but refrained from doing so because the learned Solicitor General and Shri Bhatia made a request for short adjournment to enable them to get in touch with the concerned authorities for working out a possible administrative and legislative solution of the menace of unauthorised use of Beckons on motor vehicles as also unauthorised use of multi-toned horns.
The request of the learned Solicitor General and Shri Gaurav Bhatia is accepted.
