UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following

O R D E R

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, we are of the opin

to earlier an area of 10,000 sq. mts. of land should be alloted for the purpose of constructio n of buildings

for the Chairman of the State Consumer Commission. We grant four weeks further time for

identification of an appropriate site and report the same to us.

It is stated now that recommendations have been made to the State of Uttranchal for

appointment of the members of the State Commission . Ms. Srivastava, learned counsel appearing on

behalf of the State of Uttranchal states that on 3.1.2006 a new Chairman has joined. Learned counsel

further states that no decision has yet been taken on the recommendation s made by the Selection

Committee. In view of the fact that such recommendations have been made on 8.12.2003, we would

request the Chairman of the State Commission as also the appropriate aut hority of the State of

Uttranchal to take a decision in this behalf as early as possible preferably within a period o f three weeks

from the date of communication of this order. Learned counsel for the State states that this order shall

be communicated to the Chairman, State Commission as also to the Secret ary to the Food and Civil
