UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

SLP(C) No(s). 20173/2018

1. The petitioners have approached this Court being aggrieved by the judgment and order dated 18.01.2018 passed by the High Court of Manipur at Imphal in PIL No. 19 of 2017, thereby directing that no licences shall be given to anyone for the purpose of construction of petroleum retail outlets or storage of any inflammable articles till the State Government/relevant authorities frame such safety guidelines, including specifying minimum area of open spaces between such storage sites and neighbouring buildings.

2. The judgment of the High Court was delivered on 18.01.2018. Subsequent thereto, the Union of India has framed guidelines vide Office Memorandum dated 07.01.2020. The guildelines deal with all the aspects, including safety, the distance from the schools, etc.

4. We, therefore, find that since directions as issued by the High Court have already been complied with, there will be no impediment for the petitioners to make an application with

regard to grant of petroleum retail outlets in accordance with the said policy. The said policy is taken on record.

5. With the aforesaid observations, the special leave petition is disposed of.

6. Pending application(s), if any, stand(s) disposed of.

1. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw this Transferred Case.

2. Permission is granted.

3. Hence, the Transferred Case is disposed of as withdrawn.
