UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

In this batch of cases, there are three categories of appellants. One category of appellants are those who are not satisfied with the enhancement of compensation granted by the High Court. The other set of special leave petitions are by the State challenging the enhancement granted by the High Court. There is a third category of persons who are aggrieved by the reduction of the compensation ordered by the High Court.

It appears that execution petitions are at advanced stage. At least in one case, it is brought to our notice that execution court has issued a notice to show cause as to why arrest and detention in Civil appeals could not be ordered.

In view of the above, there will be an interim stay of further proceedings in the execution.

In the meantime, the State shall deposit the difference between the enhanced compensation and the compensation already paid with a statement of account, with the Executing Court. The time for making such deposit will be eight weeks from today. But the landowner(s) shall not be permitted to withdraw the same without the orders of this Court.

All these matters may be listed for final disposal on 11.07.2023.
