UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R
Exemption from filing Official Translation granted.
Applications for permission to seek impleadment and impleadment on behalf of South Eastern Coalfields Ltd are allowed.
On the request of Mr Ajit Kumar Sinha, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the applicant, the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board is impleaded as a party respondent.
Issue notice on the applications, returnable on 20 March 2020.
Mr Ajit Kumar Sinha states that necessary steps for setting up Sewage Treatment Plants have already been initiated and tenders have been invited. Mr Sinha states that the status of compliance will be filed in the form of a status report before this Court on an affidavit.
We direct that a status report be filed on affidavit, indicating the progress which has been made and the timelines within which the setting up of the Sewage Treatment Plants shall be completed.
In the meantime, we direct that no coercive steps shall be taken against the applicant.
Affidavit, if any, be filed by the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, in the meantime.
