UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R

On 21.03.2021, this Court passed the following order:

"Application for permission to file additional documents/facts/annexures is allowed.

The only plea urged by learned Additional

Solicitor General is that the time granted for implementation of the order dated 23.07.2021 was too short as there were a large number of employees as per the chart (Annexure A-1 at page 221) and option has to be taken. She submits on instructions that the dues, including arrears, have been paid to all of them and the only aspect which she urges is extending the period for compliance so that the burden of interest does not come on the petitioners.

Issue notice limited to the aforesaid aspect returnable in four weeks.

In the meantime, the direction to pay interest at 8.5% per annum from 05.03.2021 shall remained stayed."

It is evident from the above order that the notice was issued confined to the question of reconsidering the interest payable from 05.03.2021.

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, we think that it would be appropriate to reduce the interest rate from 8.5% to 6% per annum. With this modification, I.A. Nos. 1 & 2 of 2021 in Writ Petition Nos. 31831-864 of 2019 Stand disposed of.

The Special Leave Petition are disposed of accordingly.

Pending applications, if any, shall stand disposed of.
