RE: LARGER ISSUE POSED BY THE COURT

Learned counsel for the State seeks some further time to file a detailed affidavit on the larger issue, i.e., how the issue of bail has been tackled, what is the pendency, what further infrastructure and manpower is being created to handle the burgeoning cases of detenue seeking bail in these excise offences.

Let the affidavit be filed within six weeks as prayed for, whereafter the affidavit will be taken on record only along with costs of Rs. 25,000/-.
