IN THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA CIVIL APPELLATE JURISDICTION

CIVIL APPEAL NO. /2025 [@ SLP [C] NO.3692/2024]

VENKATESWARA ETTU Appellant(s)

VERSUS

PANGAJAM & ORS. Respondent(s)

O R D E R

Leave granted.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.

The matter was referred to the Mediation Centre attached to the Madras High Court, Bench at Madurai for exploring the possibility of an amicable settlement between the parties.

It is submitted that the matter has been resolved between the parties on 5th March, 2025. IA No.93488/2025, being an application to bring on record the Settlement Agreement, arrived at between the appellant and the respondent Nos.1 and 2, has been filed, and it is submitted that the same may be allowed and the final decree be drawn by the Trial Court, based upon the said Settlement Agreement.

Taking into consideration the above, the application stands allowed and the Settlement Agreement shall form a part and parcel of the final decree. There shall be a final decree drawn by the Trial Court, in terms of the Settlement Agreement. The mutation will have to be effected accordingly.

We have been informed that the sisters and stepsisters of the appellant, either arrayed as or represented through respondent Nos.5 to 21, have not appeared before us. Since they are not parties to the aforesaid Settlement Agreement, liberty is granted to them to avail appropriate remedy, in a manner known to law, if aggrieved.

We make it clear that our order will have no bearing on the subsequent purchasers, being respondent Nos.3 and 4, who also were the defendants in the suit.

The appeal stands disposed of, accordingly.

Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
