O R D E R

1. Mr. Harshad V. Hameed, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-State of Kerala, submits that in Writ Petition (Crl.) No.78 of 2023, the Jail Advisory Committee has not recommended for pre-mataure release of the petitioner (Sushama S.) against which decision, the petitioner has already preferred a statutory appeal before the State Advisory Committee, which is pending consideration. As such, the said petition may be dismissed as the petitioner has already availed alternative remedy.

2. In Writ Petition(Crl.) No.227 of 2023, learned counsel for the respondent-State of Kerala submits that the matter is pending with the Government regarding the premature release of the petitioner (Shailaja) and would need further time for a decision being taken.

3. In view of the above, we dispose of Writ Petition (Crl.) No.78 of 2023 as having been rendered infructuous in view of decision being taken by the Jail Advisory Committee against which an appeal is pending before the State Advisory Committee.

4. Insofar as Writ Petition (Crl.) No.227 of 2023 is concerned, we dispose of the same with a direction to the respondent-State of Kerala to take an appropriate decision on the pending matter within a period of eight weeks from today.
