Ms. P.Agarwal, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the amount has since been made over to the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in cash on 13-04-2023. She further submits that inspite of numerous opportunities being allowed to the respondents, the affidavit is still yet to be filed. She prays that contempt proceedings be instituted against the respondents in this regard.
-
Dr. N.Mozika, learned DSGI assisted by Ms. S.Rumthao, learned counsel for the respondents submits that the non-filing of the affidavit on time was due to the fact that the respondents were exploring the possibility of preferring an SLP before the Supreme Court, which has now been abandoned. He therefore submits that the order is in the midst of being complied with and the same should be completed within two months from today.
-
In view of the submissions, the matter is closed and disposed of at this stage giving liberty to the petitioner to institute fresh proceedings if the same is not complied with.
