Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Management of the Transport Corporation has handed over a cheque representing 25% of a sum of Rs.1,04,392/ when the statement shows a total amount of compensation due from the employer as Rs.4,17,570/-. There is also a mentioned in the tabular column that they have deducted a sum of Rs.3,13,178/- towards compensation awarded, but, no details ae available with regard to that deduction. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Management is also unable to explain as to how this amount was deducted.

Therefore, without prejudice to the rights of the Workmen in this contempt petition, the cheque for 25% of the total amount now handed over can be accepted by the petitioners and the respondent is directed to file a detailed counter for the amount deducted, as stated above, and not paid to the workmen. If no counter is filed within one week from today, this court will be forced to issue a bailable warrant for the appearance of the Managing Director before this court.
