At this stage at least, there is absolutely no explanation as to why the order dated 19.05.2014 has not been followed / implemented. This is despite the fact that the adjournment as sought was granted to enable the respondents to take instructions.

At the request of the respondents, stand over to 01.08.2014 for admission. The pendency of this contempt petition will not be a ground for not implementing the order if the respondents otherwise are of the opinion that it ought to be implemented.

Mr.Jain states that the building is in a extremely

dilapidated condition and failure to comply with the order may result in a calamity. It is made clear that these proceedings do not prevent the authorities concerned, including the BMC from taking all steps necessary to safeguard the structure and more important, the lives of the inhabitants and any other person or persons. In fact the authorities are bound to do so.
Stand over to 01.08.2014.
