Heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader, representing the learned Advocate General, appearing for the respondents.
- The grievance of one Kurshid Begum, resident of Hyderabad, in this writ petition, which is taken up on the basis of a telegram, dated 03.08.2007, sent to the Hon'ble the Chief Justice, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, is that her
son by name Afzal Baig @ Khaleel Baig was illegally kept in custody by the police personnel of L.B.Nagar Police Station from 30.07.2007 to 03.08.2007.

In response to the notices, issued by this Court, the first respondent- Inspector of Police, L.B.Nagar Police Station, Cyberabad, filed counter-affidavit stating inter alia that the alleged detenu is accused No.2 in Crime No.796 of 2007 of L.B.Nagar Police Station, which was registered on 31.07.2007 for the offence punishable under Section 379 I.P.C., basing on the complaint given by one B.Bal Reddy of Meerpet, L.B.Nagar. Consequently, the alleged detenu was arrested on 31.07.2007 itself and on 01.08.2007, he along with A-1 and A-3 in the said Crime was produced before the II Metropolitan Magistrate, Cyberabad at L.B.Nagar, who inturn, remanded them to judicial custody, pursuant thereto, at present the alleged detenu was lodged at Central prison, Cherlopalli.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case that are revealed from the counter-affidavit filed by the first respondent, we do not see any reason whatsoever to proceed further in this matter.

For the foregoing reasons, the writ petition is liable to be closed.

In the result, the writ petition is closed, at the stage of admission.
