  1. Rule. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor waives service of rule on behalf of respondents.

  2. By way of the present application, the applicants have prayed for a direction to the respondent authorities to provide police protection to the applicants.

  3. Mr. Mahendra U.Vora learned advocate appearing for the applicants submits that the applicant No.1 and 2 were in deep love with each other and decided to marry. That, the applicant No.1 married with applicant No.2 on 28.12.2020 as per Hindu rites and rituals without the knowledge or consent of parents of both the applicants. That, the marriage registration certificate of the applicant No.1 and applicant No.2 issued by the Marriage Registrar, Ward Thaltej, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation dated 28.12.2020 is annexed at Annexure "A". Due to fear and threat atmosphere created by the parents of applicant No.2, the applicants are compelled to move from place to place. That, the applicants want to settle down and therefore, the applicants seek direction against respondent -Police authorities to grant police protection to them from the parents of applicant No.2. Hence, by representation dated 29.12.2020 addressed to the respondent No.2, they sought police protection. However, no response is received. Hence, the present application is filed.

  4. I have heard learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and perused the papers. The Police Inspector, Kalol Taluka Police Station, Dist. Gandhinagar is hereby directed to provide police protection to the applicants for a reasonable period of time as he may thinks fit and appropriate and also see that no harassment would be caused to the applicants by the relatives or parents of the applicants.

  5. With the above direction, the present application stands disposed of. Rule is made absolute to the aforesaid extent.

  6. Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the concerned police station through Fax or email.
