The Court made the following Order:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, Sri C.V.R. Rudra Prasad, learned counsel for unofficial respondent and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for the official respondents.

  1. The grievance of the Writ Petitioners is that though the matter pertains to civil disputes, a crime was illegally registered against them vide Crime No.43 of 2016 on the file of Phirangipuram Police Station, Guntur District for the offences under Sections 420 and 560 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and therefore, they pray to quash the same.

  2. During pendency of the Writ Petition, the respondent No.1 – police has submitted written instructions, in which it is stated that the respondent No.1 – police has completed investigation and filed charge sheet in the subject crime, and the same was numbered as C.C.No.510 of 2022. It is further stated that the said case was compromised before the Lok Adalat on 19.11.2022 and the offence was compounded under Sections 320(8) of Criminal Procedure Code by the learned II Additional Junior Civil Judge Court, Narasaraopet.

  3. Recording the same, the Writ Petition is closed. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
