Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India pleased to issue a Writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent authorities to take the responsibility of the mentally ill patients wandering on the streets within the jurisdiction of the concerned police stations in accordance with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017 since the homeless mentally ill persons needs to be admitted in the hospitals for their better treatment as guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

The petition coming on for hearing, upon perusing the Petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Sri Kasa Jagan Mohan Reddy, Special Government Pleader for Respondents, the Court made the following
