| This court by an order dated $08.09.2021$ | |||
| had issued two directions to the respondents. | |||
| Firstly, to frame a scheme for fixation of the pay | |||
| scales of the Archakas within three (03) months, | |||
| failing which the lands originally allotted to the | |||
| Archakas<br>by the proceedings<br>$\quad \text{ of } \quad$<br>the | |||
| Commissioner, Endowments Department<br>in | |||
| 1973 to be handed back to the Archakas. | |||
| The<br>second direction given to<br>the | |||
| respondents was to set apart $50%$ of the | |||
| amounts realized by way of an auction of the | |||
| leasehold rights of the lands, from the time the | |||
| lands were taken back by the temple and to | |||
| distribute the said 50% of the proceeds, after | |||
| deducting the salaries paid to the Archakas, | |||
| amongst the families of the Archakas, in | |||
| accordance with their right to perform | |||
| Archakatvam in the temple. | |||
| The<br>2 <sup>nd</sup><br>respondent appears to<br>have | |||
| understood this order to mean that the auction | |||
| amounts were to be distributed only from the | |||
| 2016. This understanding is not in<br>year |
accordance with the directions of this Court in the order dated 08.09.2021.
It is submitted that the lands have been handed back to the Archakas. However, the amounts payable to the Archakas have not been calculated nor has any of the money been paid out to the Archakas.
Sri G. Ramana Rao, learned counsel for the respondents seeks time to obtain instructions in the matter.
