HONOURABLE DR. JUSTICE K MANMADHA RAO
WRIT PETITION NO.1654 of 2013
ORDER:
This Writ Petition is filed by the petitioner seeking the following relief:
"For the reasons disclosed in the accompanying affidavit, it is therefore prayed that this Honourable High court may be pleased to issue a Writ, order or direction, more in the nature of writ of mandamus under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, declaring the action of the respondents, not extending the benefit of minimum scale to the petitioners in the cadre of Academic Consultant/Assistant Professors on par with other regular Assistant Professors as arbitrary, illegal, discriminatory and unconstitutional, mala fide, violating Articles 14, 16 and 21 of the Constitution of India and issue consequential directions, directing the 1st respondent to pay the minimum time scale of pay to the petitioners attached to the post of Assistant Professors on par with regular Assistant Professors working in the 1st respondent university, as per the law laid down by Honourable Supreme Court in case of State of Punjab & others v. Jagjit Singh and others reported in 2016 INDLAW SC 738, reiterated in WPMP No.47740/2016 in WP No.38751/2016 dated 04.12.2017 and WPMP No.5882/2017 in WP No.4833/2017 dated 15.02.2017 and pass such other order or orders as it deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Learned counsel for the petitioners, Smt. S.V. Indira, submits that on instructions of her clients, she has filed a letter, dated 01.02.2022, before the Registry, to withdraw the Writ Petition in respect of petitioners 3 and 4.

It is pertinent to note here that the Writ Petition in respect of petitioners 1 and 2 was dismissed as withdrawn on 24.12.2021.

In view of the letter dated 01.02.2022, submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners to withdraw the Writ Petition in respect of petitioners 3 and 4, this Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No order as to costs.
As a sequel, the Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
